A practical workshop to recognize when movement becomes automatic and to use connection as a tool to make clear choices—keeping the dance present, alive, and interesting for both partners.

Rocío & Darío
Professional Tango Dancers & Teachers
Rocío de la Torre and Darío Cieri are professional Argentine tango dancers and teachers based in Buenos Aires. Their work is distinguished by a refined aesthetic, elegance, and deep musical sensitivity, understanding tango as a dance that responds to the music, where choices of movement, timing, and dynamics are shaped by what is being played.
Their approach is grounded in the concepts of Dialogue and Habitar, emphasizing listening, presence, and consciously inhabiting the body and shared space.
They are first prize winners at Tango 2 London and Sonrisas Milongueras TMV, and semi-finalists of both the Tango World Championship and the Buenos Aires Tango Championship (2024–2025). They teach and perform regularly in Buenos Aires and internationally.
Entre Mundos is a tango quartet formed with the mission of recreating the most danceable and passionate styles of milongas worldwide: from Di Sarli and Lomuto to Caló, Biagi, D’Arienzo, Tanturi, Canaro, and Fresedo, while also incorporating Argentine folklore. Their performances consist of two sets of tandas that include tangos, waltzes, and milongas, presented by style in a format adaptable to both international stages and dance floors.
Since its inception, Entre Mundos has captivated audiences at the most renowned milongas in Buenos Aires, such as Parakultural, El Beso, La Viruta, Salón Marabú, La Nacional, Pipi
Cucú, La Maldita Milonga, and the Milonga Federal at CCK, among others. They have also brought their energy and authenticity to festivals across Argentina, in cities like La Rioja, Tandil, Carlos Casares, and Tierra del Fuego, and have graced stages across Europe, including Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, and Austria.
Each member of Entre Mundos brings extensive experience in tango and international performances across diverse settings, from milongas and theaters to large popular music events. Alejandro Abbonizio (double bass), Joaquim Díaz Varela (bandoneon), Marisol Canessa (violin), and Francisco Ferrero (piano) combine their academic training with influences from folklore, jazz, and popular music, creating a unique style that fascinates dancers and tango lovers worldwide.

Core Social Combos: Ronda-aware Interpretations (intermediate)
We all learn essential tango combinations in classes, often with plenty of space. In the milonga, however, the situation is different: the ronda rarely allows large movements.
In this workshop, we will revisit well-known social combinations such as ocho cortado, giros, and sacadas, and adapt them for small, realistic milonga spaces. By changing direction, timing, and speed, we will find practical ways to dance these movements comfortably and musically in the ronda.
Let’s experience dancing pequeño — while feeling grande. To be continued on 28 March…
